1)
Preparation
Before you begin to paint, remove or move away any furniture,
pictures, lighting fixtures, wall hangings, switch plates and outlet
covers that are not to be painted. Be sure to cover your floors with
a drop cloth, or plastic sheeting. Newspapers and bed sheets are not
recommended as they allow the paint to soak through to your floor.
2)
Posture
Lee
has the natural advantage of a long reach, but regardless of one's
bodily frame, its important to avoid awkward stances while painting.
Get up that ladder in order to keep your brush and hand at eye-level
while painting near a ceiling or rooftop (make sure, of course, the
ladder is properly balanced on a firm surface).
3)
Patience
Haste makes waste... or in the case of painting, a whole heap of
paint drops and splotches. Make sure to set aside the proper amount
of time to begin and finish your painting project.
